A Juror's Perspective on U.S. v. Moussaoui
July 20, 2006
Juror 526 offers this brief account of their personal experience of serving as a juror during the Moussaoui trial. The trial against Zacarias Moussaoui, the only person to be sentenced for the attacks on September 11th, concluded a few months ago. Moussaoui was sentenced to life in prison. This experience had a profound impact on this juror who shares some of the difficulty in watching videos, reading reports, and listening to testimony. Juror 526 also shares some of the experience of the complex decision-making process in this case and explains their own position as the sole juror who found for a life sentence rather than the death penalty. Commitment in the Aftermath of Tragedy
An article by Hans Ephraim-Abt.
In this article, Hans Ephraim-Abt reflects on the manner in which some families affected by cataclysmic events like 9/11 become galvanized into acting to affect change. Hans lost his oldest daughter on Korean Airlines Flight 007, which was downed by a Soviet fighter plane on September 1, 1983, and crashed into Soviet territorial waters. Since that time, he has been an active advocate, serving as the Chairman of the American Association for Families of KAL007 Victims and, since 2000, the spokesman for the Air Crash Victims Group, an umbrella group of organizations representing families of victims of major international air crashes.

FOS11 Guide for Families and Survivors for Viewing Films About the Events of 9/11
As we approach the five year mark of the September 11th terrorist attacks, the media and entertainment industry are releasing the first commercial films focusing on the catastrophic events of that day. United Flight 93 premiered this past spring. In the next few weeks Oliver Stone’s film, World Trade Center will be released. While many citizens are not sure if they are ‘ready’ to view a re-enactment of that fateful day, family members of those who died and survivors are especially concerned about the film’s visibility, related media attention and of course, personal reactions to the film itself. The first question people may ask is “Should I see it?” The answer is very individual and depends on any number of factors. Click on the link below for suggestions that may be useful in determining how to make that decision and guidelines for viewing.
